REJUVENATION Part 2: REVERSING THE RAVAGES OF TIME

Educational Activity:  Postgraduate Course

Organizing Body: University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UPCM) and Medical Alumni Society (UPMAS) through the UP Medicine Class 1989 Alumni

Target Audience: All interested non-medical & paramedical personnel, physicians, general practitioners and specialists taking care of aging patients, target number of 150-200

Target date:       Half-day Course on December 18, 2014 (Thursday)

General Description:

This course aims to bring to fore medical issues and conditions that are relevant and crucial to the preservation of wellness and health among older adults .  The knowledge and expertise honed by the members of UPMAS Class of ’89 will be shared in this course where they will discuss relevant and current issues on diseases affecting the older adult population.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand the biopsychosocial changes unique to the older adult.
  2. Appreciate the importance and sequelae of diseases unique to the older population.
  3. Evaluate the utility of standard and cutting-edge interventions for diseases unique to the older population.
